- ERC interview support:
- ERC proposal mentoring.
More information on these activities:
ERC information sessions for mathematicians:
Upcoming ERC information sessions will be announced on this webpage. For information on previous information meetings, please see this page.
ERC interview support:
If you’ve been invited to an ERC interview, please contact us on erc@platformwiskunde.nl if you’d like some support. We can help you strategize, help you find mock panel members and recommend external support options.
ERC proposal mentoring:
If you’re considering writing an ERC proposal, we can help you set up a one-on-one meeting with someone who has experience with the ERC. During this meeting, you’ll get advice on how to present your ideas effectively. Contact us on erc@platformwiskunde.nl if you’re interested.
Are you considering writing a proposal?
Key steps to get started, and helpful links:
1. Check out the application deadlines on the ERC website:
https://erc.europa.eu/apply-grant/starting-grant
https://erc.europa.eu/apply-grant/consolidator-grant
https://erc.europa.eu/apply-grant/advanced-grant
2. Reach out to the grant office at your intended host institution. Many universities offer support for preparing your proposal, in particular for the budget.
3. Look at the videos and slides from previous PWN ERC information sessions: https://platformwiskunde.nl/onderzoek/erc-werkgroep/onderzoeksaanvragen/
4. Watch the ERC classes on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist? list=PLtv6FnsXqnXAYRk6HCErwMxwML0ZKoMcy
5. Look up information about funded proposals in your field: https://erc.europa.eu/projects-statistics/erc-dashboard. You can filter on type of grant and panel as well as other aspects.
6. Consider what panel to submit your proposal to. PE1 Mathematics may not be the best fit for your proposal. PE6 Computer Science & Informatics, PE8 Products & Processes Engineering or a panel close to your application area could be a good fit as well. Checking out the Panel keywords can help.
