NMC: Netherlands Mathematics Congress

Join the Netherlands Mathematical Congress to come in contact with your colleagues, share ideas and concerns, and see what is going on in Dutch mathematics. Stimulate PhD students, Postdocs and underrepresented groups to join!

Each year during the Dutch Mathematics Congress (NMC) PhD candidates get the unique opportunity to present their work at the Dutch mathematical community. Grasp this opportunity as a supervisor or as a PhD candidate! It is every year very interesting and nice to see what young researchers are working on!

🏆 PhD thesis award: Each year the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society (KWG) organizes the KWG PhD prize for the best presentation of PhD research in mathematics. The PhD prize competition is open to PhD candidates in mathematics from all universities in the Netherlands and CWI, provided their thesis defense date is after 28 February 2025. 📄 The poster session will be organized for all PhD students in Mathematics in The Netherlands and it has a competitive character. A jury will assess the posters and award three prizes: € 300, € 200 and € 100. The prizes will be awarded during the closing ceremony of the NMC 2025. More information here.
