Yesterday, May 21, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway presented the 2024 Abel Prize to Michel Talagrand in the University Aula in Oslo. Talagrand is from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris, France. He received the prize for his groundbreaking contributions to probability theory and functional analysis, with outstanding applications in mathematical physics and statistics.
