|Please forward this message to anyone in your department who might be interested, especially PhD and master’s students!|
We are happy to invite you to join us for our annual event on Friday 30 October. This year, the event will be online.
We have an exciting programme ready for you. First off, EWM-NL president Prof. Maria Vlasiou will give an overview of EWM-NL’s activities and plans for next year.
Our first keynote speaker Prof. Tanja van der Lippe will tell us about differences between men and women regarding visibility, work-life balance and career opportunities, especially in covid-times. Her talk will be followed by a group discussion on how to mitigate these differences.
Next, Dr. Arjen Dijkstra will give us a historical overview of women in mathematics, focussing on how female mathematicians were perceived in their time. Afterwards we will have a group brainstorming session, where we aim to collect a list of female mathematicians who should (but currently do not) have a Wikipedia page, to contribute to the red list. All your contributions will be welcome!
